The vessel Frøyanes by Ervik Havfiske will be equipped with Motus Technology's complete pot hauling system for advanced crab catching.

The vessel is set up to haul pots either through sb side or through the moonpool opening, the pot hauling system is arrange in such way that minimal re-arrangement is necessary to alter the hauling positions. By combining moonpool and hauler technologies, the operational capability of the crab catching operation will increase with regards to harsh sea, wind, cold and floating ice. This streamlining of the pot hauling operation, combined with increased safety and work environment for the crew onboard, will add significant value.

Kjell Åge Tangen, Special advisor in Motus, describes the collaboration as follows:

"In order to streamline the hauling operation onboard the vessel, we have worked closely with both Ervik Havfiske and Marin Teknikk.
This process has been very interesting for us, combining our in-house knowlegde of fishing and engineering competence with the operational experience from crew, ship owner and ship designer.
The result is a safe, effective and streamlined hauling operation, which ensures that Ervik Havfiske will continue to deliver high quality products to their customers"

Frøyanes will be in operation by January 2024 as the first of its kind.
